I suggest that the reason many of the discs break/broken is that people try to adjust only the top to handle the tension they desire. When the bottom should be tightened also so the spring disc is not the only tension holding the arms where wanted.

Many of you already know but a real dandy trick on valve covers is ; dimple the mounting holes high so when driving the bolts back down on install you will be pushing with extra pressure. Thanks E good pics. The lower pic of your install looks like the threaded semi-round piece is deflected by tightening the assy. How easy do they pivot? Pretty serious spring.
