3rd Brake Light

Postby Spike » September 13th, 2017, 9:40 am

While I was doing wiring, I added a third brake light. It's from a 1990s Chevy Astro and fits perfectly. I did have to cut a ~1" hole in the roof to clear the bulb holder. I ran a wire directly to the brake light switch, since it needs a dedicated lead. You can't run it off the rear wiring harness, since it's a single filament and you don't want it tied to your turn signals like your existing brake lights. It also works with the flashers. I've got a couple extras of these brake lights, if you are interested in one.

That does seem like a perfect fit. Good job posting and figuring that out.
